Dili, 13 December 2010 - The Minister of State Administration and Territorial Management (MSATM) Dr. Arcangelo Leite, accompanied by the Oe-cussi District's Secretary of State Dr. Jorge Teme, met today with a Delegation of the Malacca Government in Dili with the objective to assist in the formalization of a development oriented partnership between the Malaka Foundation and the Solenusnat Oe-cussi Foundation.
The visit is the outcome of the negotiation between Office the State Secretary for the Autonomous Region of Oe-cussi and the Government of Malacca aiming at supporting development programmes in the Oe-cussi District, with a particular focus on the areas of agriculture and tourism services, where the Malaka Foundation has gained remarkable experience.
The Minister welcomed the two parties initiative, encouraged them to guarantee the implementation of the agreement working jointly to promote development and growth in the Oe-cussi District.
The Oe-cussi District's Secretary of State stressed the vast natural resources of the region and explained how the District has showed a significant economic and social growth since the Timor Leste's independence in 2002.
The meeting was also attended by the Malaysian Ambassador, the Chief Minister of Malacca and by the President of the Timor Leste Trade and Industry Chamber.
