
Dr. Arcângelo Leite was nominated to be the Minister of State Administration and Territorial Management on the 8th of August, 2007.
Dr. Leite was nominated due to his extensive experience and achievements working with local government. Directly prior to his nomination as Minster, Dr. Leite worked in the same Ministry as the National Director of Territorial Administration.
He has been involved in many critical issues of state, including an observer to the Constituent Assembly in 2002, part of the technical team working on the border demarcation from 2003 until 2006, and an essential part in the team studying options for local government, which he continues to lead until this day.
His educational background has also prepared him for his current position as Minister. After graduating from Secondary school in S. José Dili in 1986, he continued on to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Administration from APDN in Kalimantan, Indonesia, in 1990. He also holds a Certificate in Governmental Sciences from the Institute of Ilmu Permerintahan in Jakarta, completed in 1995.
